Colorado has launched a four-year study of American bald eagles to determine how the protected raptors have adapted to population growth along the metropolitan Front Range and identify planning measures that could ensure the bird’s future.
While there are currently no active wildfires in the Pikes Peak region, the western half of the state has several active blazes. Fires in the western U.S. and Canada are also big contributors to the current haze lingering in the area.
