COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs police are currently investigating a shooting that happened near Highway 24 and Chelton Road. Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) and Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a call for a traffic crash around 7:35 p.m. Sunday.

When crews arrived they found the driver of the vehicle was unresponsive and died at the scene. Officers say the driver appeared to have “suffered a gunshot wound”.

No one else was injured as a result of the crash.

Detectives were able to identify a suspect in the case. On Monday, CSPD issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old James Lloyd for first-degree murder; he was reportedly taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

On Wednesday the victim was identified as 17-year-old Matthew Terry of Colorado Springs.
