FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) - For the second time in a week, the railroad crossing in Fountain at Highway 85 and Fontaine Boulevard was closed for an incident involving a train.

Fountain police are reporting a pedestrian was killed in an “incident” involving a train.

“At approximately 3:46 this afternoon, officers were dispatched to the area of Fontaine Boulevard and Highway 85 in reference to an accident involving a train and a pedestrian,” said Fountain Police Department spokesperson Lisa Schneider. “Officers arrived on scene. They did locate that person that was hit by the train and unfortunately that person is deceased.”

Further details were not provided.

The roadway was reopened by Wednesday night.

Less than a week ago, a car crashed into the side of the train at the same intersection.
