FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A deadly crash closed Highway 115 in Colorado on Tuesday.

The crash was reported at about 5:30 p.m. between County Road F-45 and Barrett Road. The area is near the El Paso County and Fremont County line.

According to State Patrol, a northbound Plymouth Neon swerved into the southbound lanes, first side-swiping a Ford Sunsetter, then hitting a Jeep Cherokee. The driver in the Plymouth died at the scene, while the driver of the Jeep suffered serious injuries. The driver in the Ford was unhurt.

The deceased driver was identified by the Fremont County coroner Wednesday as 51-year-old JD Claflin of Colorado Springs.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Troopers do not know what caused Claflin to drive into the wrong lane.
