COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A child was hit by car while walking to school Wednesday morning.

Police say the girl was crossing against a red light at Union and Vickers and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She suffered at least one broken bone and was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Police would not comment on the student’s age or what school she attended.

The driver stayed on scene and is not suspected of speeding or using drugs/alcohol. At the time of this writing, no one has been cited, though the crash remains under investigation.
